I'm getting ready to peel some cucuzza to make a most wonderful Italian-tomato based soup.... You have to be Italian to know what Cucuzza is. All Italians have fig trees and Cucuzza growing.
I'll be washing my covers for my couch.
Will be ironing my new skirt I made and hopefully cutting out a dark brown skirt out of a cotton/poly inexpensive fabric. It will be the famous out of print, Simplicity 4881. I tweak it into a more narrow but still A-line walking skirt a bit above my ankle bone.
Took a good walk this morning in the morning sun. Feels great to do that.
I'm still cleaning out my studio, it's going to be a while. Yes indeed. Little by little.

I am cooking Mexican food tonight and have been cleaning and packing all day...organizing tons of toys and and cleaning under the couch. 😖

Dear Anonymous, Hahaha, True...Most of the old world Italians do not mess around. She is very spunky indeed! She reminds me a lot of my great uncles and like I wrote...My grandma if you got her going on something. Yep. lol The video was an encouragement. I like to tell people...Beware. I speak the truth. Hopefully in love but it's not easy being half Italian and half German, it's quite the collision. Both sides definitely had prophet in them but much mercy as well thank the Lord.
Have you discovered any good ways to organize toys? I know that was always a challenge for me. Mexican food sounds so good! I have the supplies and maybe next week will make some spinach enchiladas. Oh....Under the couch. Yikes. Scary. *big smile*

This is a busy time of the year, if you have a garden with produce! I didn't realize this when we planted our garden last Spring! 😲 It's been so fun to see how God has provide a small bounty for us. Now I need to preserve it!

I'm sewing, clean the dust from the farmer who crops they have harvested, and preserving the produce from the garden. Little time to worry! Lots of time to pray!

Today was spent mostly at home… it began with Julia awake in her bassinet, all wide eyed & happy, windows open with my fall candles lit, breakfast with Nathan, getting Julia on a better nap routine, making a crock pot dinner, enjoying the beautiful fall day with Julia in my lap, making a run to get vitamins for Nathan so he can get over his cold, and late night conversation together. It seems the time flew but it was a good day… thank you for asking! 🤗

Oddly, I had never heard the cacuzza so glad before — adorable!
I have been working on getting my house at “square one” so I can advance some projects… it’s hard to work on painting projects and also keep the laundry and dishes at bay! But yesterday I did get some maintenance housekeeping done and also another coat of paint on the tables I’m working on — one to sell and two little portable tray tables I’m using for nightstands for the time being (at least they will be a pretty white now). E and I also spent a lot of time outside in the pretty weather! Today I have to get blood drawn and errands done and then tonight we’re going to small town football game. I also have to get dinner and the house tidied up. It’s great to be a homemaker, isn’t it?

We actually did a little dance session in the kitchen with Julia the other evening to the cucuzza song! And I added it (unfortunately, another version) to my "fun" playlist. But I especially love Louis Prima's version!

I'm not a homemaker, but love the perspective and keeping the Italian heritage close to heart. Louis Prima is a classic, always fun, always energetic, and always a joy to listen to. His music brings comedy and lightheartedness to even the most stressful days (which come every day lately).
I'm late to the question, but today was one of the first times in a very long time I was able to stop, kick my feet up, and just take time to enjoy my family and my home. Everything has been in so much disarray it's easy to forget to take time to breathe and appreciate the every day moments.

There truly is something about that kind of music isn't there? Lately I've been very drawn to old radio programs with Bing Crosby or music by Glenn Miller and Nat King Cole, and of course Louis Prima makes everyone smile! Love that stuff.
It's a busy time for so many of us and I'm so glad that you were able to kick those shoes off and take it all in. When things are crazy it's hard to just stop isn't it? I'm a creative messy of sorts coupled with life happening and I too become discouraged at times. I tell myself that I am strong and that it's a cinch by the inch and hard by the yard...So much of life just happens though and I offer that up in prayers and lately have been turning off too much information. Peace, peace wonderful peace at least as much as I can help it. Thank God for Louis Prima. : )

You would love making your own skirts, you can make them as dressy or casual or any length you like, it's most liberating. That pattern I listed is a good one!
I didn't make the couch covers, I actually use a lightweight bedspread and now I am starting to use a cotton flannel in an autumn-y brown color. It's inexpensive and you can just drape. You don't even have to hem the edges...So nice. And cozy.
I bet your long dress and apron is so fun! I'm the opposite today haha, I'm wearing navy knit workout pants with a navy tshirt that says..."I love Jesus and my dogs"....My oldest daughter gave it to me for Christmas!

I love Italian food. Making good food for the family is a blessing to the household. I am always inspired to read about your sewing projects! I will have to get a new project started here, in the coming days. I am not sure what I want to make, as my fabric supply is limited, but hopefully I can make something anyway. God bless!

Sewing is such a wonderful and uplifting thing isn't it? The Simplicity 4881 only takes 2 yds if you cut it out straight up and down not on the diagonal.
