Checking in and Sharing a Few for an Audience of One. Edited ; )

Hello Friends,

Someone shared this photo and it warmed my heart.

Andrea Bocelli is a prolife advocate and one of my very favorite people in the music world.  This is a recent shot behind the stage before his concert, of Andrea and others praying. ....Beautiful.

.

I'm just peeping my head in, I haven't been here in a while, lots going on.  A wedding for starters, and a precious new puppy our youngest daughter's special friend bought for her. ...And more.

Meet Atticus:  Isn't he a darling?  His nickname is Hudy from the movie,The Book Thief.  It is the way Liesl pronounced, Rudy.   Or Hoody because he has the sweetest little hooded eyes.

.

 .

Liesl and Atticus.

Saw a wonderful movie the other night that I highly recommend:

Made for Each Other (1939)

.

This movie is one of my all time favorite movies...I remember it like yesterday I was in our little condo on a busy city street after our first little baby, a sweet little girl was born (the little bride below!) and I saw this movie and just fell in love with it, oh my goodness, how we can relate to so much of the situations in this movie.  You will see a most poignant part towards the end of Carole Lombard praying for her baby as well as a most touching scene with she and her mother in law...I can relate to many of the disappointments in this movie as well as God given Victories.  God is just.  Spoiler alert, it has a happy ending.

I read this, this morning in my Streams in the Desert devotional:

An excerpt,

Our life is very mysterious.  In fact, it would be totally unexplainable unless we believed that God was preparing us for events and ministries that lie unseen beyond the veil of the eternal world --where spirits like tempered steel will be required for special service.

I will close for now...I've missed blogging but my plate is full these days if you know what I mean, Jem and I have discovered a good channel for real, informative and truthful news, the name of the channel is 'Real America's Voice' or the app is 'America's Voice'.     Also another very educational and what could definitely be life saving, Christ centered site, a plethora of medical doctors and specialists is covid (dot) daystar (dot) com. Here.

A view last week from my studio.

The dress I made for our daughter's recent wedding, I was stoked to say the least that I was able to design and complete the dress and finally enjoy the fact that I actually sewed my own mother of the bride dress!  This is the third wedding in our family, and this was the appropriate sized little intimate wedding where I could pull this 40s style ballet ankle length dress off.

EDIT 10.25.21:  Here's the sweet couple at the altar, one of our son in loves conducted the sweet ceremony.  The old original:  Fly me to the Moon was the song they played as the couple came  down the aisle after they were married, what else for a bride and her pilot husband?

Tis me.  Back when I was in highschool, me with my little dog, Poncho.  A friend in photography came by and took this shot. I still have the long hooded sweater, and I still love clogs and hoop earrings.   Not much has changed...And I still love God's creatures.

Take care now...Checking in and signing off until the next time....For an Audience of One.

Your dress was beautiful for the wedding! The color and everything went so well for a sweet little autumn wedding. I'm so happy for them! It was a very nice affair indeed. ;)

The Streams in the Desert quote was so encouraging today! Thanks for sharing it!

Love all the pics and all the thoughts! <3

Congratulations on the marriage of your daughter. I am thinking it was not too awfully long ago that we were praying for her, for just the right man to come into her life. I am very happy for the couple.

Your mother-of-the-bride dress is beautiful (of course!!) Your sewing is always the best and that you designed it yourself, how special is that?!!

The dog pictures -- priceless. So precious.

Good to see you in blog land for this post.

Hello Sandi, Now I have three son in loves who all love the 40s and wholesome things and Jesus. Fly me to the Moon was right up our family's alley!

Bocelli, he is very neat, and a very, very strong, prolife advocate for our unborn.

Blessings to you!

Hi Marianna, isn't Atticus such a little love? Grace is enjoying him so much and I get to share in that, such a blessing.

Oh the noir in that photo of Andrea praying with friends is so neat I think not to mention that they take praying and putting Christ first seriously.

I'm so glad you liked my dress, I was sewing and praying and praying and sewing, it was quite the adventure, oh if I had a dollar for every fitting and adjustment I did! lol The wedding was just so nice I thought, much like the parlor wedding in Best Years of Our Lives?

That little excerpt spoke to my heart major yesterday, so many times things from my devotional will stand out like that. So glad it ministered to your heart. xo

Aww Barbara, yes friend, we were praying about that and God truly answered those prayers! God sent Janie a sweet soul who loves the Lord and things that are wholesome, the other night they were watching an old Dick Van Dyke show, very typical so now I have three son in loves who love the Lord and who are very kind, what a blessing! Thank you friend for your prayers!

I'm so glad you like my dress, that is a huge compliment, I know you have very good taste I always love your decorations!

Our little Atticus is truly a blessing, he's a little sweetheart. Our youngest daughter here is enjoying him so much and I get to share, so it's really nice.

Thank you Barbara for your kind words, it's good to be back, I wish I was more engaged lately with blogging, just so much to do on certain days and I know you understand how it can be. (gentle smile)

Wow Atticus IS so adorable!! I'm thinking of getting a pet when I move, leaning towards a cat though I'm allergic to cat hair. But if I could find another ATTICUS, well....

Amelia said...

Thank you! Atticus is very sweet too, quite a little character. Oh yes, you should definitely get a pet! Cats are nice too! We have three, and they definitely have their little personalities. ...So we have four dogs and three cats, it's very entertaining to say the least. I'm going to pray you will find another ATTICUS in some shape or form! : )

Hi Sherry! So good to hear from you and so glad you are doing well! Snow? Wow, that is amazing. Fall has made her arrival indeed. Oh bear tracks? We have cougars, bobcats and deer but no bear tracks. *big smile* We saw a huge big bunch of deer the other morning, the male was galloping about...soooo neat. I bet the leaves truly are beautiful there where you are!

I hope you and your hubs were able to watch 'Made for Each Other'. Isn't it a wonderful movie, so true to life. 'Shop Around the Corner' will be on Movies! channel tonight and I bet it's on youtube as well. My husband loves that one! Nothing like a cozy evening at home, we love watching old movies to unwind and chat, sometimes laugh watching the scenes. I feel safety in that and just a normal routine these days. I'll pass on the congratulations! We have four pooches, they are so fun. Liesl truly is a sweetheart of a dog, she has an exceptionally sweet spirit that just says...'Thank you for loving me.'

Blessings to you Sherry!
