You may also enjoy "Made for Each Other" (1939) That one has some very neat parts in the last half that has a very touching part on prayer, Carole Lombard praying in a hospital chapel and even a poignant part of Carole Lombard speaking with her elderly mother in law...I'll have to post on that one. I think it may be on youtube.

I'm sure you've seen 'It's a Wonderful Life', the part where Jimmy Stewart prays at the bar crying? He really was crying. Frank Capra, the producer had to zoom in doing the best he could since he didn't intend on zooming. There is actually a Christian tract written on this scene and what Jimmy Stewart was experiencing. It is really something.Ameliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09093408888499365118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1469962485360170433.post-2478830266662756532020-10-11T14:16:03.892-05:002020-10-11T14:16:03.892-05:00I finally watched Red Light. Tofurkey? O...Hi Linda, I hope you are doing well. Tofurkey? Oh it's wonderful stuff, I buy it in the produce department. It's an Italian plant based sausage and it is delicious! I also cook it with pasta gravy and it's wonderful.

Yes, there were so many injustices back then many times because the Italian immigrants did not speak good English. Neither my inlaws nor my mother are able to speak much Italian because their Italian immigrant parents wanted them to assimilate and did not encourage their children to speak much Italian at home. My Grandpa Oddo became an American citizen and it was a wonderful proud day in his life! They were proud to become Americans! He was one of the sweetest things ever, he was a quiet, precious man, many times embarrassed because he couldn't speak what he thought to be good English, he sang like Caruso.

I appreciate you coming by and your encouragement, God bless you Linda!Ameliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09093408888499365118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1469962485360170433.post-42817079820941010352020-09-17T08:22:08.149-05:002020-09-17T08:22:08.149-05:00Hi Patti! I too love the voice of Nat King Cole, ...Hi Patti! I too love the voice of Nat King Cole, I have the cd, "Love is the Thing and More" It's my all time favorite! I never tire of it.

I just loved it that you immediately knew the stars in the movie! Haha, yes! I'll have to check into Invisible Stripes.

Irene Dunne...Just love her. Penny Serenade, another movie I never tire of...It reminds me of how things were when we were little ones...Just the sweetest movie ever...*happy sigh*. Beula Bondi and Cary Grant...Oh, so sweet. There is a story of Irene Dunne at a church, a lady turns around and tells her, "Oh isn't this exciting? Just look at all the stars!" I'm sure Irene Dunne was amused. I was reading Irene Dunne never pushed doors open in her career, she never forced and didn't believe in forcing things, things would have to open naturally for her to take a part. Very neat lady and a lady in the true sense too.

Yes, I've been leaning in to the Lord ever so much and that's always a good thing, but yes, our country needs prayers badly, badly. I'm seeing things that are just blowing my mind they are so evil. Things are so crazy they tend to cloud over the abortion issue. I think of the scourge of abortion, you have candidates who think that is okay minutes before or after the birth, and of course anytime it's taking a life cruelly. You have people who don't see the good in our President who has done so much for the prolife community and Israel among other things. It's a spiritual dullness I do believe in many. Do they realize what is at stake here? Do they care?

Thanks for your encouragement and comments above Patti, Love and hugs!Ameliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09093408888499365118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1469962485360170433.post-13963068009214394252020-09-17T08:06:42.805-05:002020-09-17T08:06:42.805-05:00Hi Sandi! Your Italian grandparents sound a lot like my mother-in-law's parents who emigrated from Sicily in the early 1900's. My husband would love if he came from an ice-cream-making heritage---ice cream has to be his favorite food on the planet! How cool that your ancestors did just that (make ice cream).

I love your little scarecrow flag. He's such a cutie. I love those little garden-size flags. Also, love those pretty blue pillows with the birds. Such a beautiful color.

The music of Nat King Cole is wonderful. Such a velvet voice he had!

Oh, yeah, Red Light....George Raft! Really good movie. I recently watched him in Invisible Stripes.

Our country is in a very precarious place right now. We all need to be pouring out our hearts to him on behalf of our nation.

Love and hugs,
PattiPattihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17948766889057998160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1469962485360170433.post-91942724067373667202020-09-16T13:20:24.490-05:002020-09-16T13:20:24.490-05:00(I found the movie on You Tube of all places!)(I found the movie on You Tube of all places!)Sandihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08702620069148109246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1469962485360170433.post-33241139353276880242020-09-16T12:26:40.611-05:002020-09-16T12:26:40.611-05:00Wonderful quotes at the end!
