Little Sweetie Update and Glimpses of Life Here. Music and Sweet 50s Show.

I thought I would post some pics of little Sweetie. This is Sweetie a few days ago in her blankets and box....she is so sweet and thank God Sweetie is getting stronger.  We pray over her and sing to her sometimes, we play pretty music here as always.  We love pretty music. When we hold her up her legs now move back and forth praise the Lord!  You see, just last week, her legs were froze, one forward, one backward and she was feverish. A vet had wanted to euthanize.  We decided not. Since then and before not only do we pray but Mar visits the tractor supply and found out from a knowledgeable young rancher guy who works there to give Sweetie and our little flock antibiotics in their water times like this.  You give me a good farmer, rancher, grandparent and they are worth their weight in gold.  Yes indeedie.

This is Sweetie in her box with our girls watching in the living room and I thought it was so cute the way she had her wing over the box!

Today I am so very, very thankful to the Lord she is outside in the little gated area on the grass with her siblings. : )  It looks as thought at this point in time her one claw is a bit stiff and unmoving so Joycie put a piece of cotton ball under the claw to open it up and some tape.

We had quite a surprise yesterday!   We couldn't find her and found she had scooted, walked into the indoor pen with the other siblings!!!  I couldn't believe my eyes!  I thought for sure Jem or Grace had placed her there but she got her little self in there all by. her. self!  Praise God.  I am so glad we did not euthanize this little darling.

Today she is even fluffier!

Just in...Driving With Mom

I just came in from taking Grace driving. She needs her license and we need to get on the ball....We have been having such lovely outings here in the country!  Grace brings her hotshot camera and captures some beautiful scenes...So. fun.  Thank you Jesus for this time with my 'baby' girl.

I caught this a week or so ago with Jem one evening on datenight.  This is one of the old historical ranches very close by.  This ranch was ran by a woman all by herself!  She would frequent the skinny road in her pink cadillac!  A very neat white two story wood frame home is back up in the property there.  Cowboys still run this ranch.  <3 br="">

I had a dream there were clouds in my mirror...clouds in my mirror....and.....   ; )

This is Zuzu getting ready to enjoy my new recipe of Vegan Tamale Pie!  It sure turned out good!  I hope to post the recipe soon on my thats-italian blog.

I really should condense to this one blog...my girls think I should...I started Vision For a Godly Home because of our Homeschool Workshop.  Thats-italian was started for everyday...and when the Lord led us here to The Forest Cathedral it was such a miracle I just had to journal it all...so this is my day to day week to week life.  I just plop it down here. : )  Something to pray about.

This is Jem and our little Muffie.  In the evening hours, Muffie is all Jem's.  Jem is doing his nightly sit-ups, he's been doing this routine as long as we've been married!  : )  I like candid life shots like this.  Do you?

Life is candid, it's a surprise, up and down sometimes like a roller coaster but God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  I love Him so.

Listening to:

  This is PRETTY.

Our family has been enjoying this sooooo ADORABLE old 50s series:
   This series is so SWEET.
This is an old black & white television series and is precious.  Christ honoring.
The little boy was praying such a sweet, sweet heartfelt prayer in the one we saw last night, he reminds me of Jem when he was a little boy.

I asked Jem what made him want to always move to the country since he was a little boy?
He tells me someone took him to the country when he was little, he doesn't even remember who.... and he remembers walking through the property just loving it....and he says with a serious look on his face... I just loved it!

....  And that I guess is the start of our Forest Cathedral.

A few more thoughts and notices this most delightful Friday afternoon before closing:

While driving today Becs and I listened to:
Are we adding to the Beauty?  I think of this often.  My attitudes, the way I say things...am I speaking to my family as kindly as I would speak to a stranger?
This ministered to my heart just now:

This reminds me of my talks with the Father.  This one came up by accident but it was not an accident.

That's it for now friends and kindred spirits, this may be an abrupt ending I know but please oblige.  I've got to get sewing on a skirt and wanted to let you know what I've been up to and how Sweetie is.  Let me know what you have been up to won't ya?

Love,     ~Amelia

P.S.  I just received a report that Sweetie is standing up and walking, clumsily walking but walking!   Thank you for your prayers!  Please keep praying.

Little Sweetie. Today.

Oh so many thoughts this unusually cold day...

Our country is in trouble isn't it?  So many prayers going out this week.  My heart breaks over the innocent lives taken in Boston and Texas... The deceit of the enemy of our souls that tainted the two young men. So. Tragic.  And of course the Gosnell trial.  It is so horrible, so cruel and barbaric what has happened and happens everyday in our country in the womb and in some cases out of the womb. There are no words.   My husband says, even how people (monsters) treat little animals is just so horrible.

Today Joycie and I brought one of our baby Bantam chicks to the vet.  Her name is Sweetie,

...the receptionist asks..."I hope you don't mind me asking, but does your chick have a name?"

I tell the sweet receptionist..."Oh no I don't mind, her name is Sweetie! : )  I think your question is a valid one, these are feeling little animals, our chicks are our pets too!"

The receptionist agrees and seems relieved we understand feelings in animals and yes, small animals.  And this is Smalltown not the city. (just so you'll know) ; )

Above the receptionist waiting room area is painted hugely...

All Creatures Great and Small the Lord God Made Them All...

Our poor little Banty  has not been well since yesterday, her little legs, one goes forward and one goes backwards, she is feverish...

The most young female vet comes out and smiles a sweet smile. I look down and see well worn farming boots under her pants, her long wavy hair is pulled back in a barrette, a sweet young natural face a bit plump. Sweet girl.  She gives a grim prognosis...but also tells us she has had to read up on the chick since hearing we were coming. She tells us they aren't used to seeing chicks. (who in the world is I wonder these days but I would think in a rural area?)  She tells us perhaps euthanize; Joycie and I both don't do well on that, tears well as they already had yesterday...Joycie walks across the room and grabs for kleenex. We're like that.

These are God's Creatures, and I only want to do them good never, never harm. She doesn't appear to be suffering, she's also eating and drinking. : )

I suggest to the sweet young vet that perhaps we should wait and pray, pray and wait...and loosely band Sweetie's legs in place as she first suggested.  She kindly says yes, and suggests giving Sweetie a shot to ease fever. She listens to Sweetie's chest and hears congestion as well.

I know the Good Lord made this little Banty and He can heal her...I've already thought about making something for her to get around in.  We bought the little hens for eggs and eggs alone and of course sweet pets too. <3>

Joycie and I bundled our little 'Sweetie' up and carried her out in her box with soft cloths, her food and a dropper with water.

Joycie and I stopped and had our customary little snack of unsweetened strawberry tea, onion rings and tater tots, it's the picture of contentment for us there in smalltown, it's an oasis of Peace. Yes, we ate our snacks with our baby chick in the car, we tell the car hop, a young black man about our chick and before he leaves he tells us he hopes our chick gets well soon.  ...It's smalltown and I think that's great, it sooo makes me glad and thankful.

We are watching and praying over 'Sweetie' with her sparkling little sweet eyes just a-prayin' and taking care.

God is watching too.  He knows even a sparrow and if and when it falls....and if it doesn't.

This little yellow and black spotted one in the middle is little Sweetie when she was a newborn, 3 days old fresh from the tractor supply.

Lifting our country up in prayers, The Lord is the answer, and I don't say that lightly as I'm sure you'll agree.

Pick some flowers outside if you can... Joycie and I stopped on the side of the road and Joycie was able to pick the prettiest springtime bouquet...Oh it's so pretty!  You should have seen me holding the box with Sweetie on my lap and holding the flowers in the other hand riding down the road!  : )

Good sweet memories.  : )

Be Still and Know That I am God...My Walk. My. Walk. My Walk With the Father.

Today. This photo of me doesn't really look like that much like me, but then again it does. The toothy grin is all mine. : )  The hair color not so much and it looks like I have drawn on crow's feet! Oh my! I don't have crows feet! My hair? No....it's not short, I have it pulled back. Who cares. I guess I do or I wouldn't write it!  Oh dear me, I'm tired. *grin*

I decided today was just too beautiful not to take a good ol' prayer walk. I had a lot to talk to God about. Sometimes we have little battles and we must let the Lord fight them for us.  Be still and know that I am God. That sums it up but I'm not making light believe you me. People can be sneaky and mean but the Lord knows how to expose things. He also knows and sees the manipulation and control that we so many times deal with  in situations.

Women who do not have a heart at home have a horrible problem with women like myself or my mom. Ignorance, jealousy, discontent and envy, it's sad and it's troubling. They may say we are abnormal because we enjoy our sweet, quiet homelife. There are many women who have bought the lies of the culture and feminism, or perhaps the busy-busy-go-go-go lie...It's a shame because true Contentment is a beautiful thing from the Lord.  A meek and quiet spirit is a precious thing in the sight of the Lord. ...And as Elizabeth Elliott used to say....And that's what the Bible says.

I feel a little at times like the young lady Dale in the old book 'All Through the Night' by Grace Livingston Hill.  I'm in the midst of it now in small ways. But...we can remember... God is bigger and He will surely fight our battles. That doesn't mean we don't feel the words people say or what they do or say behind the scenes but when it comes down to it we know God has the battle.  Be still and know that He is God! : )

Enough of that. : )  I went to the back of the property and I sit in my special place, I look down and I know I've had a quality walk when I see mud on my pants! *big smile*

I just love my sweet little dogs, they make such good little companions on my walks!  They are my fur angels!
Our sweet little Muffie.  Muffie was rescued by Mar from the middle of the street with a rusted collar and so very matted bless his heart.I'll never forget, she called me "I passed this little dog in the street and thought I can't leave him there!  I turned around and...Mom, he jumped in the car and rolled on his back so happy!"

Our handsome Charlie, I was laying down in the grass on my back talking to the Lord and Charlie came close standing next to me and I grabbed this most beautiful shot of our Charlie.  Charlie was rescued by our youngest, Becs, with her birthday money, she cried and said she loved him how can I forget?

The clouds above me...

That's my prayer walk today. I hope you all are doing well, we can Be still and know that He is God! : )

Love, Amelia ...still that Last Child in the Woods along with her doglets...

May I suggest:  Be Still and Know by Millie Stamm, a beautiful devotional
